Abundant Living
My daughter, Madison, and I were recently discussing how too much social media leaves us in an actual brain fog! If you've suffered from social media overload, you may know the feeling! I mean, are we really meant to experience such a plethora of emotions within a 15 minute time span (or much longer)?! We have come to the conclusion that we are not meant for that! If we're not careful, it will steal our energy and joy right out from under us. I imagine that is just what the enemy wants ... and it's opposite of what Jesus desires when He speaks of an "abundant life" for His children.
A verse we found so telling was Romans 12:2. "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." The pattern of the world is certainly to be aboard the social media train. And while there is nothing wrong with social media (it's actually a blessing to us business owners, right?!), it can be harmful when it wears us down mentally or emotionally.
"But be transformed by the renewing of your mind" ... Don't you find that line amazing and insightful? When the words and voice of the world wear you down, you can be renewed by the words of scripture ... the very voice of God! And that leaves us open to His guidance and perfect will for our lives.
The world may mean well, but God intends so much more than we can imagine ... Ephesians 3:20. I pray this encourages you to run hard after the abundant life He intends.
