The Adventure of a Lifetime
We’ve been studying the book of Proverbs at church over the past month. And, wow … the practical advice that the book of Proverbs holds is deep & astounding. Yet I have found myself a little overwhelmed … how is it possible to remember all of these truths? I can barely remember to move clothes from the washer to the dryer most days! But the Lord has reminded me in Psalm 119:10-11
“With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."
It’s our job to “store up” by saturating our hearts & minds with His word. But we’re never left alone. In His loving kindness, the Holy Spirit walks with us … reminding, guiding, prompting, transforming.
One of the most pivotal moments in my walk with the Lord was realizing that Christianity & the Bible isn’t about a hard list of “do’s & don'ts.” But rather, His word is a guideline to living the very best life. That doesn’t mean a pain-free existence. But it does mean that we have a loving Father who wants to walk with us through it all, showing us purpose, even in our pain.
We can so quickly miss out on that abundance with the distractions & shuffle of life. And I’m determined to not miss out on the adventure of a lifetime. A step toward that is beginning our day with a simple prayer … “Father, show me how to walk in your truth & abundance today. Help me see past my own self so that I see you & the needs of others clearly.” The days I’ve asked this of the Lord, He’s never failed to answer that prayer & I’ve experienced a better glimpse of who Jesus is.
Living an abundant life may seem wildly impossible in today’s world. But what is impossible with man is possible with God. We can live in abundance, one day at a time 🤍
With love,
Mandy
